CAN I TRY IT OR BUY IT IN STORE?
In Canada, Steve's Music stores also sell the Laurin products. It is currently on display in Montréal and will be across Canada sometime soon.
They are available online for the rest of the world.
WHAT IS THE SUPPORT FOR YAMAHA MODULES?
The Yamaha snare rim shot technology is different from the other brands. All you have to do is use another port than the one declared as "snare" on your drum module.
So. for DTXpress or DTX500 to DTX900, swith the snare with a dual input port (Kick pad or Toms) and re-assign the sounds accordingly. We will send you the configuration procedure on request at firstname.lastname@example.org
WHAT SETTINGS TO USE FOR A SNARE OR TOM ON THE DRUM MODULE ?
For almost all Roland modules, please set the snare model to PD128, PD125, PD120 or PD108. On TD-11 and TD-25, please set the snare model to PDX8. If you are not familiar, please refer to your drum module user manual (available online if you search for “Roland TD-xx user manual”) to adjust these settings or contact us.
If you are using it with an Alesis or Pearl module, the suggested sensitivity of the pad is 35 and rim sensitivity at 95. Retrigger should be between 7 and 12.
Settings for the cymbals or other products will be sent to you by email.
DO YOU MAKE 14" SNARES?
We can make custom 14" snares on request. Please note that this size of mesh snare might not be optimally sensitive and responsive to all drumming styles. We suggest using the 14” as floor toms where precision hitting may not be required.
